Start Menu - Music Button - DEAD

Somehow since last night, my MUSIC button died. [Vista Ultimate 32-bit]

1. When i click it, the button goes up/down, but no action occurs.
2. When I right-click it, I only get 3 choices: COPY, RENAME, PROPERTIES
3. When I click PROPERTIES, I do not get the normal tabbed window. I get
the window that appears in the screencap below. With no way to redirect the
link to my MUSIC folder.

Anyone know how to repair this one?

Is the target folder for that shortcut still present? Open Windows Explorer
and navigate to C:\Users\username\Music. (Where username is the name you are
logged on with.) Check to see if the properties of the folder display OK.

If the folder is OK, try removing that shortcut from the Start Menu and then
enabling it again.

Right click Start/Properties/Customize Button. Scroll down to Music and
select Don't display this item. Apply/OK. Reboot the computer and then go
back and select one of the display options for the Music folder shortcut.

You are absolutely right. I caught it this morning. I had added a second
hard drive to the machine, and Vista renamed the drive with my Music from F
to G. Hence, it did not exist. This morning (for some reason) the
PROPERTIES TAB was back to normal and I could redirect it back to the right
location.

I have this same problem but for both music and pictures. In the start
menu/properties/customise I don't have an option for music or pictures to
"display as link" like I do for Games, Control Panel, Documents etc.

The problem started when i went to transfer my music and pictures to a
second hard drive, then the links no longer worked and there doesn't seem to
be anywhere where I can redirect these links to the d drive. So I made a
copy of all my music such that it is all on both the c and d drives but even
then nothing happens when selecting the music link so I'm left
floundering.....any idea?

Have you tried right clicking on the Music entry on the Start Menu, select
Properties, Location tab, and directing it to your D: music folder?
