Major Problems with upgrade to vista

Problems:
Every time I try to open control panels, explorer crashes - can not access
control panels.

Every time I try to access the security centre, Rundll32 crashes. The
problem is reported, but no solution is given.

I can not change any settings because I can not get to them!

I can not uninstall programs etc because I can not access Add/remove programs.

This is a major fustration and a major disaster with assignments due etc!!!

Running Vista business - upgraded from XP Pro.

Core 2 duo T6200
Gigabit motherboard
nVida Graphics card GeForce 7600
2gb ram

What errors are you seeing in the event logs?
