Font problem
I think my problem is a Vista problem and not an Adobe problem. Here is my
situation. Just got a brand new computer with Vista installed. I installed
Adobe Creative Suite 1. When I opened my InDesign file, it told me there was
a font missing-Arial Black. However, I checked the fonts folder and there it
was. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but nothing has worked. When I
look in the Fonts folder at the Font file name, it is listed as Ariblk_0.ttf.
It shouldn't have the _0 at the end. If I try to change it, it says that a
file by that name already exists, but I don't see one anywhere. Any ideas? I
really use Arial Black a lot for the publication we do.

Re: Font problem
If you don't get an answer here you might try:

www.desktoppublishingforum.com

where there are a lot of font and Adobe experts, and maybe a few VISTA
ones coming along <g>

I've just checked my Fonts folder and I do have Arial Black showing
there -- the file is arbl____.ttf (note to long underline ____ which is
4 characters to make the 8+3 file name -- arial black goes back to 1995
<g>

I wouldn't like to say that arial black came with VISTA or with
something I've installed some of which do go back in time -- like Lotus
Smartsuite <g>

RE: Font problem
My office uses Goudy Old Style font. I just got a new computer with Vista on
it and Word does not include the Goudy Old Style font. So I downloaded one.
However, its look on the screen makes it unreadable and though what it prints
is readable, it no longer matches the company's Goudy Old Style font. Any
suggestions?

Re: Font problem
I would simply copy that font from one of the company systems and install it
on the new computer.

Re: Font problem
I don't know what version of WORD you have but Goudy Old Style is in my
WORD 2002/XP.

It's a commercial font so you may have to buy it?
