Nero 7 wont accept its own serial number, only in Vista
Any boffins out there who might know what it is in Vista that prevents me
from installing Nero 7.7.5.1 because it keeps saying that the serial number
is invalid. I have tried every which way, used their "Clean Tool", cleaned
out the registry of anything "Ahead" or "Nero" and it just wont co-operate.
In XP it installs with absolutely no problem at all.

Re: Nero 7 wont accept its own serial number, only in Vista
No problem here, installed with my serial number first time. Have you
checked you typed the number correctly?
Don't be offended by me asking, but is your key valid?

Re: Nero 7 wont accept its own serial number, only in Vista
Yes, it's the key they emailed to me after I purchased it. I've tried
CCP-ing from the email, entering manually...nothing works.
Strange that I have no problem doing exactly the same thing in my XP
partition.
I also tried downloading their trial version...it wouldn't accept it's own
serial number either....very bizarre.
I've combed the registry and can't find anything that might be causing this.

Re: Nero 7 wont accept its own serial number, only in Vista
I have installed Nero 7 with no problem at all. It could be
fault on Nero's part. Try to install Nero on other OS.
If that will not succeed then ask Nero AG for a new CD with
new Key.

It looks like a job for the folks at Nero Tech Support.
