Offline Files not available
I have Vista Business. It's part of a SBS 2003 small network. I have enabled
Offline Files (in Control Panel) but get the message that Offline Files are
enabled but not yet active. Even after restarting the computer and disabling
and re-enabling offline files, the message persists. How can I enable the
Offline Files?

Re: Offline Files not available
I am currently going thru the same problem. I am waiting for someone at
microsoft to contact me as they want me to run some kind of tool to see what
it's doing (and presumably why it isn't working).

Do you have any kind of third party indexing software (such as paperport or
omnipage) loaded?

Jeff

I also now have this problem.

I have a new Vista 64bit laptop and the only problems I am having is with Microsoft software.

I can't get offline files to work (same as the posts above) and I am unable to index network files located on a sbs2003 server.

What is happening, you would think that Microsoft software would have the most compatibility with the 64 bit operating system.

If anyone has a solution to these problems (Microsoft or otherwise) it would be much appreciated

thanks

It has taken me a while but I have finally found the fix for the offline folders and the inability to rename network folders.

Error message in Windows Vista when you try to rename a new subfolder in a shared folder on the network: "The <SharedFolderName> folder does not exist"
