The option "Reminders shoud show when Windows Calendar is not running" does
not work.

Steps to reproduce this bug:

2. Create an appointment to start 2 minutes ahead from current time.
3. Set its reminder to "0 minutes"

Re: Windows Calendar "Reminders should show..." option is not working
what happens if you try it with more realistic values. like appoint in 1 hour, reminder for 30 minutes.

I use calendar every day and have NO problems with it.

Re: Windows Calendar "Reminders should show..." option is not working
Tried that just now, didn't work. What version do you have?
Mine is Version 6.0.6000.16386 (vista_rtm.061101-2205).
It was pre-installed by HP. I have an HP Pavilion a1720n.

Re: Windows Calendar "Reminders should show..." option is not working
am using v6.0 6000.
vista ultimate RTM.

is it possible that some of the garbage hp loads up for you is causing problems.

use MSCONFIG and turn off all startup options and reboot.
try the calendar again.
be sure to remember to turn all the msconfig startup items back on.

Re: Windows Calendar "Reminders should show..." option is not working
Changed to administrator, ran msconfig and disabled startup items and reminders still do not show when Windows Calendar is not running. UAC doesn't have any effect either. Maybe there's a bug in Vista Home Premium and not in Vista Ultimate.

By the way, when you make changes to appointments that have a reminder, does Windows Calendar affect the Task Scheduler? When you close Windows Calendar, is the WinCal.exe process still running? If not, does the WinCal.exe process start up when a reminder should show?

Re: Windows Calendar "Reminders should show..." option is not working
something just came to mind.
have e you check the Task Scheduler.
mine shows Windows Calendar with MULTIPLE triggers.
might check the scheduled tasks to see what Windows Calendar shows on triggers and its options.'such as run when user is logged on.
