Turn windows features on and off

help please

windows vista ultimate

when i go into the programs then turn windows features on and off

there is nothing listed coming up

can this be fixed or repaired without doing a re installation of the
complete system

tried to do a startup repair from vista disc but no joy

help me if you can suggest anything else to do or check

thanks dean
did try that after googling the problem and no good the registry key is not
there to delete but tried anyway

did see in the forums there are others with same problem and cant find the
solution

this is one for the microsoft boys to sort i think

can someone from microsoft see if they can supply an answer that works
please
