Explorer crashes
I recently installed MagicDisc to read the ISO files I had created before (as
recommended on TechNet). Everything goes well, installation succeeded,
Virtual device driver running. Then I opened a corrupted DVD ISO file
(without being conscient of this). I right-click on my device to explore it,
and wait ... Then explorer would freeze and completely bug the entire system
(would never close even when killing the process). I could do nothing to save
my system except to shut down the system (using the bad method of pressing
the power button to force shut down).

My questions are following: Did Microsoft REALLY do their "incredible
stable wonderful [...] driver system" ? And why couldn't I force the explorer
process to kill and restart itself later ?

From the way it appears to me, it's the software you installed and the
corrupted data that has created the issue, and in turn the operating system
has somehow been locked up. If you had waited for 5-10 minutes you may have
found things returning to normal (we are all impatient).

I have a Sony DCR-SR30E HD camcorder and the supplied software was not
intended for use with Vista. I have installed it, but the main editing
application refuses to function correctly.... until I wait 15 minutes and
then the application just seems to start!!!! It's clear that I need to wait
for a Vista specific update here, and like everyone currently using this new
operating system, we are are all in the same boat.

Re: Explorer crashes
Well, maybe, i will check next time if waiting could solve the problem. But
if my memory is good, last time it stayed frozen for about 9-10 minutes
before I got really impatient and closed my computer using the fast method.

But it seems really strange that the system could not unlock itself. I could
switch users, start new stuff, but all things related to explorer were really
mixed up and only got the situation worse.
