Strange problem - Random floppy disk accesses
I have a strange problem on my Vista Ultimate edition installation. Every
now and again I have a session where there is continuous random accesses to
the floppy disk drive. There are no dialogue boxes open so I have no idea
whats causing it.

Anyone got any ideas?

Many thanks.

Re: Strange problem - Random floppy disk accesses
Hi,

Check the settings in your antivirus software. If it's doing periodic
automatic scans, it's likely including that drive. Most have an option to
exclude removable drives from automatic scanning.

Similar floppy access problem
I have encountered the same problem regarding continuous floppy disk access. Before I realized this was software, I replaced the physical floppy drive. I am running Onecare, but there are no options there for turning off disk checking as suggested by another user. I also run some Yahoo security software (supplied without request by my ISP SBC), but I think I have disabled that completely. Any suggestions out there before I have to spend hours on this one with Microsoft's techies in India?

THanks,

Carl
