Vista Speech Recognition Broken?
hello, i am running vista 32bit enterprise edition and i cannot seem to get
the speech recognition working. the computer completed the tutorial thing
just fine, but when i try to launch speech recognition after that, it loads
quickly and goes "standby" and "off" really fast. when i click the mic icon,
it says "please restart speech recognition" and "speech recognition has
encountered an error. please restart blah blah continue use blah blah". any
insight on this would be appreciated. this happens on both my desktop and
laptop computers.

RE: Vista Speech Recognition Broken?
Terahertz,
the same thing is happening to me. I have my own thread started, and am
currently awaiting a reply.
It'll be interesting to see what, if anything, they say.

RE: Vista Speech Recognition Broken?
i have already resolved the issue. i re downloaded the iso and reinstalled.
it was either a bad burn or a bad download. then, i was able to copy the
whole speech folder from the new fixed computer to my computer experiencing
the problem and all was fixed. i hope this helps.

RE: Vista Speech Recognition Broken?
I, too, managed to (somewhat) resolve the issue. I set speech recognition to
run on startup and it worked. It sometimes still crashes, but hey, something
is better than nothing.
