Easy Transfer and Vista

I had Windows XP 64bit German (shipped with language pack !)

I´ve installed Vista 64Bit Ultima German,
i´ve saved my data before with Easytransfer, all looks fine,
but after formating the harddisk and installing vista,
i´ve not able to restore my Software and emails !

i´ve get the message "the save was made in a different language" and i´m
unable to get my data out !

is there a browser for the save-files available ?
so I can save my data ?

I know, I should backup before, but wenn no backup software RUNS under XP
64bit !
normals I use Symantec ghost (not supported 64bit), no chance to backup,
