Change icon of exe file
Now that I have reinstalled Quicken 2007 in Vista, its icon no longer appears
with the exe file in the folder, although it does appear in a shortcut to it,
and there is an icon file in the folder. For reasons that I will not take
the time to go into, I want to show the Quicken icon beside the exe file in
the folder. Can someone tell me how to do that? Is it a generic problem or
Intuit-related?

Re: Change icon of exe file
Intuits issue! The icons are created using a resource file that is compiled
into the EXE and sometimes the icon can be found within the directory! If so
you can size what ever you want it to and change the name

Re: Change icon of exe file
James, it sounds as though I can make the change I want because the icon file
*is* in the folder/directory. The problem is that I do not know how to go
about making the change to the exe file's icon. Can you help me with this?

Re: Change icon of exe file
Maybe I should have explained that what I am trying to do is to put a
recognizable icon in the Vista sidebar App Launcher gadget. It will not
accept a shortcut icon with the appropriate appearance, in the case of some
files, including this one.
