problem with system restore
Hi can anybody help me with this problem?
My Sys. Restore was turned off, when I tried to turn it back on all my
restore points were gone! I tried to create new points but this error came up
"Request not supported 0x80070032" Any ideas? Would really appreciate it.
Regards

Re: problem with system restore
sorry, if sytem restore is off, I think you cant do anything to solve your
problem this way.
First you have to enable system restore, but this will not help with your
today problems.
reinstalling windows can be or not a solution.
Carlos.

Re: problem with system restore
yes, reinstaling is the main alternative to restore points, but before, take
a copy of all your documents,
at least, with XP, restore process does not insure your documents shall be
untouched, i dont know
if Vista yet have this defect.

Re: problem with system restore
When you turned SR off you lost all your R points. When you turned it back on
it automatically created the first RP and it will do so every day and at
various events from now on. You can't go back earlier than when it was turned
back on If that were so, then people would leave it off all the time thinking
when they need it they just switch back on. It has to always be on.
If you are having probs with its excessive GB usage go to "howtogeek.com"
for his advice on reducing it. It works. Wayne

Re: problem with system restore
Thanks Wayne, thought as much. No real probs with GB usage, just
experimenting without real knowledge. Not very clever!! But hey, we live and
learn. Or so I'am told, thanks for reply.
