Nothing is absolute and there are always exceptions but talking about a
desktop environment which is what was being discussed: Do I feel safe?
Yes. Linux by default puts you into a limited user account, that in itself
protects the OS. As well, by default, Linux doesn't leave a number of open
doors/ports. Why is it included? For those that may want Linux to act as a
server or gateway.

Thanks. I look forward to learning Linux.

Good question. I'm not really sure anymore. This group seems to be full of
completely unhelpful people. I first came to this group to get assistance
but my question was treated with such disdain it does make me wonder why I'm
still here.
Why are you here? Certainly not to aid anyone, or provide any valuable
insight.

Re: Ubuntu - Read the review - Ubuntu Sucks
the guy was saying and i agree you should not have to jump thu hoops to get
your OS to run it should just run out of the box.
and as i all so fart around with Ubuntu don't try and give me the crap that
you just point and click to install video drivers you have xserver running
which means you have to boot into a thermal.
sure you could use the drivers that they give you in there version of add
remove programs but they suck just as bad as the ones Ubuntu installs with
the OS.
and you just don't down load java and point and click the file and it
installs you have to all so jump thu hoops to install it flash is a little
easyer.
so your a Ubuntu fanboy fine but if someone says Ubuntu should work out of
the box and it does not which it does not you should know it's true and not
lie about it and call people lame
