Limited connectivity

I have a laptop and a desktop on my home network with 1 linksys wired router
and 1 linksys wireless g router. Since upgrading the desktop to Vista, it
takes anywhere from 5 - 10 minutes after booting for the internet connection
to start working. With XP the internet was available as soon as the computer
booted up. The Vista desktop just doesn't "see" the connection to the
wireless router. Any ideas on what would cause this?
