Upgrade or clean install
I am currently running Vista Ultimate (RC release 1) on one of my computers.
It is the only OS on this computer. Do I need to do a clean istall or an
upgrade? My suspiscion is a Clean Install.

Re: Upgrade or clean install
RC1 isn't an upgrade option for the Vista Upgrade disk. It's better to do
the clean install, although with the full version disk, it will allow the
upgrade.

Mary--

My advice is not to upgrade from a Beta (RC1) that was released September 1,
2006 to an RTM that was released November 8, 2007. You have a much greater
chance of stability by either upgrading from a legacy OS, or better still
doing a full install.

Re: Upgrade or clean install
I will follow your advice and do a full clean install of Vista on this
computer.
I do have another question though. I love it so far, but, I have one little
problem. I do believe it has to do with power. The computer I refer to is a
laptop, and on inital boot my screen will nearly go white, then it recovers,
and anytime I try to run on battery I have the same issue. As long as it
remains plugged in to AC power, no problems.
