RE: File backup failed
I tried the file backup again but instead of using a cd I chose the recovery
drive and the backup worked, could this be a problem with backing up to a cd?
Has anyone else successfully backed up to a cd?

File backup failed
I tried to do my first file backup on a new HP laptop that I just purchased
with Windows Vista Home Premium installed. I got a message back stating the
backup failed parameter incorrect 0x80070057. Can someone help?

Thanks.

Re: File backup failed
Exactly what was the procedure you used. The error of an incorrect parameter
is exactly that - the files to be copied were not correctly indicated or the
wrong action requested, etc..

Re: File backup failed
I went to the Control Panel, chose Backup & Restore, chose Backup files,
chose my CD drive as the place to save the files, then chose the local C
disk, and then I chose Documents for which files to backup. The backup
appears to be running and writing to the CD drive, however I get a message
after a short time that says backup did not complete successfully, parameter
was incorrect (0.80070057).

RE: File backup failed
I have had a similar problem...and have 'lost' all of my document files.
After following the procedure described by 'back 9', I received an error
message "Insufficient storage available to create shadow copy storage file or
other shadow copy disk (0x8004231F)." I was then directed to delete files in
my backup folder to make space.

Tried to move files to recycle bin and delete and now all my document
original files are gone.

Tried running Winundelete and no files show up as receoverable.

What is going on?
