Is there a way to "auto-hide" the gadget sidebar?
I'd like to be able to move my mouse to the right of the desktop and get the
sidebar to come out, and then hide again when I remove the mouse. I can close
the sidebar and re-open it from the icon by the clock. However, there doesn't
seem to be any way to auto-hide the sidebar like you can the taskbar. Looking
in help under "Customizing Windows Sidebar" it says you can "hide" the
sidebar. But outside of closing it and reopening it via the icon, or simply
covering it with a full screen window, I don't see any way to really hide it.

Am I missing something?

No, there is no auto-hide feature for the sidebar.

Interestingly - I think in RC1 - you could auto hide the sidebar, but in subsequent
releases, they removed it. Not sure why.

Re: Is there a way to "auto-hide" the gadget sidebar?
you can always set the opacity of all gadgets to all the way down to 20% -
then when you hover over them they brighten to 100%

not much of a workaround I know, but better then nothing
