How to stop KB927978 from continually downloading and installing?
I'm running Vista Business (retail) and Windows automatic update keeps
downloading and installing the following: MSXML 4.0 SP2 Security Update
KB927978 as well as MSXML 4.0 SP2 Security Update (925672). Are they needed
with Vista, as both have October and November dates?

Both show up in the Program Features in Control Panel, so the question is,
how do I get these two to stop installing over and over?

Thanks.

Hello Jerry,

For a resolution, regarding the Update Error, open Vista's Help and Support,
and then (in the Search Field) type; - Update Error -.

When the Search results are displayed, simply follow the instructions as
needed for your specific Error for the resolution.

Vista's Help and Support, and the "Start Search" Field, immediately above
Vista's Start Button, will be your best friend if ever conflicts arrive at
your Desktop.

RE: How to stop KB927978 from continually downloading and installi
Jonathan:
Thanks for the input, but I wasn't getting any update error message...again,
the updates show to be installed in Control Panel, but the Windows Automatic
Update apparently doesn't 'see' them, and downloads them again and wants to
install them. Last night after searching MS for info/help on MSXML versions
and issues, I followed 'delete and repair' instructions on the MS MSXML site
for 4.0, and so far today, i haven't been 'plagued' by the 'continual'
downloading/installing problem, so, hopefully this is behind me now.
