My screen resolution is far too small
On XP I used 1024 x 768, which suited me perfectly, but for some reason, I
can't use that on Vista. It is stuck on 600 x 480 (Is that right?), which is
making everything look ridiculously big.

Can anyone tell me how to get back to 1024 x 768?

Thanks

You cannot adjust it?
Most likely a video driver issue--or lack of proper one for your video
card/chip.

Most likely Vista was unable to find drivers for your video card, in that
case it defaults to a lowest setting that is compatible with almost all
video cards (the old VGA standard). You will have to locate a driver for
your card (best bet is the web site of your card maker) that is OK with
Vista.

Re: My screen resolution is far too small
Is there any way I can force it to go back to 1024 x 768? If it didn't work
perfectly on XP, I would get another graphics card, but it did, so it
shouldn't be an issue.

Thanks

Re: My screen resolution is far too small
It's 640x480.

Right click on desktop.
Choose Personalize menu choice.
Click on Display Settings link at bottom of page.
If the resolution cannot be changed from 640x480 to something larger, then
you probably need video drivers.

You can right click the desktop, go to personalize. Then select Display
settings. In there, you should be able to raise the resolution. If not,
update the video card drivers and try again.

Re: My screen resolution is far too small
I had the same problem but was able to find an update video driver for
my laptop and now I have my higher reolution back again.

Open your Device Manager (use your operating system's Help and Support
function) and check to find the name of your Display Adapter.

Then, do a google search on the *exact* name of your Display Adapter
as shown in your Device Manager ...

Example: "mobility radeonn 9600/9700" +"vista driver"

(Note: replace "mobility radeonn 9600/9700" with
"THE_NAME_OF_YOUR_DISPLAY_ADAPTER")

Then, assuming Google is able to find your specific driver, download
the driver to you Desktop.

Next, double-click the .exe file you just downloaded and start the
install process.

Once the install has completed, you'll need to reboot your computer.

Tada! That should do the trick ...
