Powerpoint viewer
My OS is Vista Home Premium. I am not able to open and view a .pps file. I
have installed the PowerPoint viewer from Microsoft, and it still doesn't
open the file. I keep getting the message, "This file does not have a
program associated with it for performing this action. Create an
association in the Get Association panel." When I go to the Get Association
panel it shows that .pps (Microsoft Office PowerPoint Slide Show) is
associated with the the Current Default, Microsoft Office PowerPoint Viewer.
When I double click on the .pps entry a screen opens to show what the
recommended program is to open with, and it shows Microsoft Office
PowerPoint Viewer. At the bottom of the screen it shows the option "Always
use the selected program to open this kind of file." I cannot select this
since the box with the checkmark is grayed out. I am at a loss on how to
activate this option to be able to view .pps files.

You might give OpenOffice.org a shot - it won't cost you a dime to find
out if it will work for you. OpenOffice has a presentation app which can
import and export powerpoint files.

Re: Powerpoint viewer
Hi Aftermath,

Perhaps you're trying to view a .PPS file attachment directly from that Windows Mail?
