Vista Remote Desktop - change username

How do you change the user name? every time I use remote desktop it supplies
my username as the IP address/my user name which results in no log on. I am
then given the opportunity to delete the 192.***.*.* so that I am left with
just the user name. Also, I do not know if this is a Vista quirk, but I am
finding that I get dropped from my VPN connection frequently despite that my
internet connection is rock solid. At least if Remote desktop could
re-connect quickly with the right info this wouldn't be so painful. Thanks

Did anyone ever respond to your question about vista attaching your computer name / your user name so that you have to change it before logging on? I am new to Vista (and to this site) and have been going nuts trying to remove the computer name as prefix..
