Starting up screens
The starting up screens are a bit naff on the Windows Vista Home Basic isn't
it. Very minimalistic For a while you just have a black screen with an
animated bar at the bottom middle of the screen and blocks going backwards
and forwards with Microsoft written underneath until you get into the
desktop. Come on Microsoft could you have not come up with more exciting
screens when starting up or is this where it gets its 'basic' name from I
wonder?

Andy.

Hello Andy,

This is the behaviour in all flavours of Windows Vista and not just Windows Vista Home Basic.

It's like that in all versions. They removed the splash screen to save a
bit of time on the startup. Did you buy it to have a fancy splash screen?

I didn't buy it! - I was working on it though. How much time did it save
then? - and yes I want a fancy splash screen please :-)

I wouldn't have even minded it they put the words 'Starting up Windows Vista
Basic Home' above the scrolling bar or 'please wait whilst I am starting' or
something lie that. Its those little things in life that make a difference!
:-)
