Re: Windows Activation
this error apears only if you are trying to activate against a local KMS. If
you intend so, check that the KMS is working properly and the client Vista
is configured with the ip adresses for the KMS to use.

otherwise just run SLUI.exe , which lets you change the productkey if you
have enterd by mistake a VLK Key.

Re: Windows Activation
I'm not sure if you're trying to activate with a volume license (Sascha
raised the idea of a KMS)

http://www.microsoft.com/licensing/r...l/default.mspx because you gave no
information about the licesnsing situation, but you can also call
1-888-571-2048 MSFT Activation and try to sort this out.

Re: Windows Activation
I think of KMS, because this error is typical for misconfigured networks
where a KMS is used.

If it was a retail Key and activation against Microsoft was not possible he
would have received the error that the internet connection does not work and
then the assistent would have come up with automated telephone activation as
alternate.

Therefore I came up with the idea

Re: Windows Activation
I agree; makes a lot of sense. The activation number can be useful though
for indivdual problems where SPP has misfired. We had one earlier today if
you check close to this thread.
