Numerous Program Openings

For the past month I've had a problem whenever I attempt to start any
program, multiple openings occur. For instance when I open my Internet
browser, two or three openings will occur. The same issue happens with other
programs as well. I'm not holding down the mouse key when I open a program.
Tried fast clicks, but problem still happens. Any ideas?

Hi Spike,

My girlfriend had the same problem on her computer. She has an optical mouse
and as an experiment I got a cottonwool bud and some metho and cleaned down
where the light comes from. It is darn difficult on some mice to get right
down there but there was gunk there, cleaned it out and it solved the problem.

Bob,
Thanks for the suggestion. I have an optical mouse and switched it out with
another mouse. Everything works normal again.
