Printing issues with Adobe Acrobat 8 Pro & freebie Reader

Both of these Adobe programs open properly on my 32-bit VISTA setup, but
neither of them will print an open *.PDF.

The error message I get:

Unable to start print job. Is Printer Available?




I've seen some brief discussions elsewhere about a "hotfix" that
supposedly is coming from Microsoft. Anyone know about this, or a cure
for the no-print problem?

I'v also have this problem, but with windows XP sp2. A clean install
of windows and acrobat reader 8.1 (latest). A network-printer is
installed.
It can print everything (.doc, .txt, ..), except .pdf-files. (Unable
to start print job. Is Printer available?).
does anyone know a solution?

Uninstall Adobe Reader 8 from Programs and features. Then logon to
'www.adobe.com' (http://www.adobe.com) and install the new version. It
would surely work..

I think you're a bit late.

Look at the dates of the posts in the discussion you jumped into: one was
in May and the other in July - OF LAST YEAR!
