Number of updates

just wondering the total number of updates and or patches for vista as of its
release

On Home Premium I have 4 important/recommended updates.

I have not included usual updates like defender definitions, junkmail
definitions and new drivers. The 4 I mention are actual patches.

1) Problem with phishing filter in IE7
2) Problem with error reporting
3) Problem with activation
4) Problems with application compatibility

There have been a few driver updates over the last couple of months, and the
first batch of OS updates (6) appeared last week.

I hope they get some updates for the built in apps soon. Media Centre is
especially bad.

I do not have these two you mention. Maybe they are hardware specific or
specific to certain version of Vista?

Well the first one is for Realtek High Definition onboard sound, so is
hardware specific. I really don't know about the second one. Here's more

I do have Realtek ac97 sound, but its probably not HD.

I've had some for Office since I opted for wider than Windows itself.

VISTA gets updates when you first install it, does it not -- I wonder
if they show up like later ones?
