Problem Vista in Windos 2000 domain
Hello!

I installed a Windows Vista Buisness. I added the computer to our
Windows 2000 domain. After rebooting and working with the computer and
reboot it again no more network access is possible. A deeper analyses
shows that a lot of system services couldn't be startet such as "Basic
filter service" or "DHCP client service" and a lot of others. If you
try to start the service manually you get error message "Access
denied". There ar no other helpful message in event protokoll.
Reinstalling network adpater also doesn't solve the problem. Does
someone now why this problem occures and how I can solve it?

Thanks in advance!

Did you check the Windows Firewall settings? Disable that
awful thing and then see if you still have problems.

It may be a group policy problem.

Re: Problem Vista in Windos 2000 domain
Hello!

Thanks for help, but it doesn't seem to work. My problem is that I
can't add the "Local Service", because the User/Group doesn't exist on
Windows 2000. I can add "Local Service" to the list but than got
error message in event protocol that group policy can't be send
because a user name is not available. Any ideas? By the way do you
know the exact position where to make this change there are a lot of
group policies on the domain control. There is one for the controler
one for the domain and a common group policy (I tried all)?

Re: Problem Vista in Windos 2000 domain
Sorry I don't have a W2k domain setup to test with. Try asking in the
microsoft.public.windows.win2000.group_policy newsgroup.
