What folder does Windows Update download updates to
In XP the updates appeared as hidden folders in the Widows Directory, but
where does Windows Update download updates to in Vista?

Thanks

Now that this is out, can we delete certain folders in "Software Distribution" in order to minimize the amount of files this enormous OS contains?

Thank, BC

Getting rid of unpacked Windows Updates
Now that this is out, can we delete certain folders in "Software Distribution" (like we could in XP) in order to minimize the amount of files this enormous OS contains?

Thank, BC

Re: What folder does Windows Update download updates to
Windows Vista keep downloaded and other related files in
%windir%\SoftwareDistribution.
I wouldn't mess too much with this folder.
You can turn off automatic updates in Vista, and if it's what you wish,
download and install manualy any updates that you see fit.
