What's the .exe or .dll for the default icon for a dial-up connection?
A few days ago my desktop (Vista Business) began displaying the generic
icons for my high speed connection shotrcut. Ramesh Srinivasan, Microsoft
MVP pointed me to the .dll for this icon.

Now I have lost the default dial-up icon.

Can any-one help? Thanks

Re: What's the .exe or .dll for the default icon for a dial-up connection?
Andrew,

After clicking 'Change Icon', Copy & Paste
%SystemRoot%\system32\SHELL32.dll into the 'Look for icons in this file'
box, then click once anywhere in the shown icons area.

Re: What's the .exe or .dll for the default icon for a dial-up connection?
To all,

Other system icons are located at:

%SystemRoot%\system32\imageres.dll
%systemroot%\system32\mstsc.exe
%SystemRoot%\system32\oobefldr.dll
%SystemRoot%\explorer.exe
%ProgramFiles%\Windows Sidebar\sidebar.exe
%systemroot%\system32\sdclt.exe
%SystemRoot%\system32\mycomput.dll
%SystemRoot%\system32\wsecedit.dll
%SystemRoot%\system32\wdc.dll
%SystemRoot%\system32\wucltux.dll

Use the same instructions posted in my previous message.

Drew

Look in system32\rasdlg.dll, and also in the other ras*dll files.

I'd be worried that something bad caused the loss of your icons, but I
have no idea what, except perhaps installing non-Vista aware programs.

Re: What's the .exe or .dll for the default icon for a dial-up connection?
Thanks Don but no go. I think the broadband and dial-up specific icons
changed after I updated the drivers for my video card; an ATI Raedon X1300
Pro. Go figure!

Just curious - how about search for *.ico? It may be listed.
