I just got this laptop and deleted that Norton Virus which came with it and
I definitely did not want. Now my home xp has the Shield Antivus 2007 but
does not include Vista just xp..
What antivirus program is everyone using for this Vista Business?

On the free side I recommend Avast. That's what I use. For paid there is
NOD32, and Kaspersky, both excellent.
Ok, thank you all very much. I have one more question though, does this
Avast have a scheduled daily scanning of my pc you can setup in the program?
I know that it automatically checks for updates so that's good.
Thanks again.

Actually scheduled scans for an AV program are a waste of time. A good AV
solutions scans in the background and is totally unnoticeable to you the
user. Avast does this by default. About the only time you really need to do
a full scan is if you think you have been infected.

Yes, agreed. I know some moron who does a full system scan every time he
boots up. What a waste of time and HDD life.

Better yet, you can set it do a scan whenever your screen saver comes
on. So it scans whenever the system is idle, rather than on a fixed
schedule.
