After installing several updates from windows update I have accumulated
NTUSER.DAT file in my C:\Users\Marek folder. This file can't be deleted. Any
advice on how I can remove these files or even what they are. Thanks.

You need it. It is your HKEY_LOCAL_USER section of the registry.
