64 Bit System Builder key on 32 Bit?
Hello!
I bought a Vista Ultimate 64 Bit System Builder, and an Ultimate 32 Bit
System Builder DVD. So I have two product keys.
BUT: can I use both keys to install the 32 bit version, and keep the 64 bit
DVD for future use? It turned out I can't use 64 bit for now due to Cisco
VPN...
hal

Chances are, you can, yes.
From what I understand, there is no difference between a product key for a
32 bit vs. a 64 bit version of the same flavor of Vista.

So the 64-bit key will have been 'spent' already on the 32-bit OS? Therefore
you may have activation issues when trying to reuse the product keys.

That is a possibility. The 'Activate by phone...' option may have to be
used--with some potential explaining to a live service rep. Time will tell
if this is successful.

John & Max

And to add to that, they're both OEM's & will
be tied to the original machine they're installed on.

Or is it, 'you can move the OEM' once ?

Re: 64 Bit System Builder key on 32 Bit?
Yup. Knew that. But in this situation (as described by the OP), it IS the
same, original, machine. Would just be going from 32 to 64 bit. I would
think (hope?) that there would be some phone authorization wiggle room to
allow for this--OEM or not--as long as it is still One Machine, One
License/PK.
Technically and legally (EULA-wise), no, I don't think so--OEM/System
Builder copies cannot be 'moved' or transfer the license to another machine.
Hence the Grey Area in this scenario.
