Disk space usage
The folder c:\windows\winsxs
uses a lot of disk space in my PC (~4gb)

How to reduce it. Help me. Is the data in it vital for my PC to run

Re: Disk space usage

I don't think it's safe to remove any files from the winsxs folder
because a lot of .dll files from the software installed on your
computer and also some windows files are stored here.

Don't worry about the size because it's normal. My folder has aroud 4
GB too.

Re: Disk space usage

Hi fusion_pro,

It appears to be Vista system files (for shared assemblies) and I would
recommend not to delete them.

Here's a link that expains what it's for:

Hope this helps,
Shawn
