video files, vista versus XP
Hi, can anyone tell me why when i play a particular video file ( avi ) on XP
it fills the screen but, when i play same file on vista it does not fill the
screen? There are 2 gaps on either side when i play it on vista. I know its
not the end of the world but its a shame, & disrupts my viewing.Ive noticed
this with a few of my video files that were burned on my XP computer.

RE: video files, vista versus XP

Yes, there is a very good explanation to that. I noticed that in Vista it
has options to run video at different settings. e.g. fill screen, maintain
aspect ratio, keep native resolution and the like. Those videos might have
been at and odd resolution or different setting that tell vista to do what it
is suposed to and not what the video is suposed to do.

Re: video files, vista versus XP
to OP:

forgive our net nanny.

it is possible a video driver problem, insure you have the latest drivers from video manufacturer site.

also on most players there is a FULL SCREEN option. check for that.

just in case for the future, there may be a different news group better to post to.
