Can you upgrade to Vista using a cdkey from another country?

So my scenario is that I have XP Pro from Canada but I currently live in
Germany. So, does anyone know if it is possible to upgrade to Vista Home
Premium using a key from a German language copy? Eventually I will be able to
get an english version but I am one of those guys who hates to wait. I guess
the other part to this question would then be, when I reinstall Vista using
an English version, will the german key still work.

I hope that made sense :P

Personally I would not risk it in either case. Use the correct key with the
correct version.
