No audio output device is installed

Hi, the sound for my Packard Bell desktop was working fine through the
Vista Home premium system until today, i have done nothing new or
downloaded anything and whenever i go to the Device manager it has not
heading for sound, please can someone tell me how to get the sound back
on my computer? thanks.

Reinstall the drivers for the sound card. Get them from Packard Bell's
support website for your specific model machine. If reinstalling the drivers
doesn't work, perhaps your sound card has died. You can put in a PCI sound
card (disable onboard sound in the BIOS first if that's what you're using)
for under $25.

System restore to when it was working .( yesterday ?) .
