Boot manager missing

::My Vista Laptop will not boot, says boot manager missing, I try to
boot from cd to reinstall the OS, cd will start to loaded disc then but
stops and I get a blank screen, it appears that it is not even reading
the hard drive, I can't even boot into safe mode::

The hard drive (or other hardware components) have probably failed. Either
call the laptop mftr.'s tech support or take the machine to a competent
local computer tech. This will not be someone from
BigComputerStore/GeekSquad.

If you have the computer skills, you can try testing it yourself of course.
