Lexmark 3 in 1 1200 series

I have a new Dell dimensions C521 with windows/vista on it, when I put my
disc in to download the Lexmark 3 in 1 1200 series my screen states that it
has downloaded and that it has successfully downloaded but it does not appear
on the task bar, or on the programs, control panel, it is not to be found.
What can I do to fix this problem? Oh by the way Dell did tell me that my
new computer was compatiable with this Lexmark printer!!!! Please help,

Have you tried to install the printer?
Start, Settings, Printers, click Install Printers, choose Lexmark, click on
have disk....

Sure it's compatible, but you'll have to go to the Lexmark site and get the
drivers.

Since you seem to have done everything so far in the wrong order, disconnect
the printer from the PC and uninstall anything that appears in the Control
Panel, Programs and Features relating to the printer.

Download the software from the above link. Install it and DO NOT connect
the printer to the PC until the software tells you to do so.

Cari,
I tried what you told me but I am still getting the same message that my
Lexmark 1200 is successfully installed , when I go to use it it is not there.
I unplugged by printer from my PC and then went in and deleted the printer
everywhere I found it and then clicked on the link as you told me and
followed the directions and it told me that I was successfully installed but
it still will not work. Would you please walk me through it step by step,
may be that would help, thanks a million.
