Downgrad Vista to XP in emergency

I have spent three weeks with Vista. Problems are more and more frequent.
Many programs cannot run on Vista, even Internet Explorer and Windows
Explorer, which have to close regularly. Even Sony, the manufacturer of my
new notebook, & Ericsson have not been able to release immediately a program
to synchronize with a SONY Ericsson cell phone!!! This is enough...
Can I install XP on this machine and forget about this huge waste of time
and money.

You will have to format in order to install XP again. If your computer came
with vista
you may be in void of the warrantee if you do that. So ask before you do
anything.

I hate to say this (not to you, the OP, you but for the regulars in this
newsgroup)

BUT I TOLD YOU SO!!!!

I was saying people would reject vista.... because of its crap quality...
and its happening
right before your vista hypnotized eyes!

You've just posted a general statement. If you would like help in
solving any issues you're having with Vista you might try posting one
issue at a time so that others might offer insightful help in solving them.
If however you've given up on Vista and wish to install XP simply boot
from your XP CD and start the clean install process. There is no such
thing as a "downgrade" from Vista, or for that matter from any other OS.
You may want to backup important files to either another computer,
CD/DVD or external HDD.

There is nothing stopping you downgrading to XP. I assume you have a full
retail copy of XP which you can install on the pc? The only one fly in the
ointment is if the machine you are using is still under warranty. You might
like to check with the PC manufacturer to see if downgrading will affect
your warranty.

Yes, you can.. either approach the vendor and ask if you can have an XP
solution, or buy XP and do a clean install

I should tell you now that exactly the same happened with the release of
Vista.. it takes a while for hardware manufacturers to respond because they
will insist on waiting until a new OS becomes 'live'..

I had a similar problem to you except that mine was a Motorola tri-band
phone, and the new OS on the block at the time was XP..

Actually, Frank there is such a thing as 'downgrading' it is used by
Microsoft when people wish to do exactly the thing the OP want to do, I.e.,
remove Vista and install XP.

Actually I was referring to the process of inserting the XP CD into the
CD drive while Vista is running and the menu comes up to "downgrade".
Just the opposite of inserting the Vista DVD into the CD drive while XP
is running and selecting "upgrade".
