Home Premium > Ultimate?
If I buy & install a full version of Home Premium and later want to upgrade
to Ultimate, can it be done by purchasing an Ultimate key from Microsoft?
If upgrading is possible, would the Ultimate install be an "upgrade" saving
all setting/programs, or would it be a clean install saving nothing?
TIA

Yes, with Windows Anytime Upgrade:
http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/Win...41b981033.mspx

However Microsoft has stated that will be more expensive that buying
Ultimate to begin with.
Try as much as possible to determine your needs in advance and save a few $.

Re: Home Premium > Ultimate?
Thanks Jupiter,

Probably will go with Ultimate in the 1st place if there is additional cost.

Re: Home Premium > Ultimate?
That is what the Anytime Upgrade team told us during the TechBeta AU chats.
I don't think the difference is enormous, but if you buy Ultimate now you
don't have to worry about keeping the AU certificate in a Digital Locker and
what happens if you want to transfer Vista to a new computer.
