I don't have a great overview--but I think you can get accurate Dell info
here and a lot more. If that is the scenario, then I think Jim Allchin and
his homies owe the world a real cogent explanation of why the hell they
didn't spend the 6 months they needed to make Vista a quantum leap better as
to bugs left unfixed and features left on the cutting room floor. What the
hell would be the point of having this big countdown clock that I see saying
21: 34 22?
I have one word of advice. Don't buy that bad boy from Lenovo without
insisting on getting an OS DVD along with it. Colin Barnhorst has said that
the 300 OEM named partners are now shipping DVDs at MSFT's behest and if so
great, but it sure represents a turnarorund for the greed that has
prolifierated at Redmond in this respect.
I know Dell is shipping a Vista DVD now.
