Re: Network failure caused by torrent client?

I've had this problem as well.

I'm running Vista Home Premium on a brand new pc and the latest version
of BitComet. I also tried the torrent client in Opera 9.10 with the same
result: the download starts and then the connection is lost for all
other apps and then for the torrent.

At first the only way to re-establish the connection was to restart,
but I found it was possible by disabling and re-enabling my network
connection.

I'm using the same internet connection (with a rounter) as with my
previous system which ran Windows XP SP2. I believe this is a Vista
issue and I think the solution should be investigated with Vista; after
searching the net and finding the same issue with all torrent clients, I
believe it has nothing to do with the torrent client nor the firewall
since the connection is established and THEN lost.

I hope there will be a solution to this soon... hopefully this will
come to Microsoft's attention and they'll include a fix in an update...
but I won't hold my breath.
