A program that I use ( FMS flight simulator) needs d3drm.dll to run.
Reading on the internet, I found where I could download it, and then
extract the file. I now have that file on my desktop. Another instruction
was to "place it into c://windows/system32"

How do I do that in Vista Home premium please? I believe that in Windows XP
I could have moved it, but Vista doesn't give me the same options. Thank
You. rich

Try right-clicking the file, selecting Properties and at lower right click on 'Unblock'.
You should then be able to copy or move it over.

OK thank you..I was able to UNBLOCK but I still do not know how to move
the file to system32.

Sorry for the dumb questions, but at my age I am happy I can read this
stuff, let alone understand it...

When I right click (after unblocking).. a number of options come up in
Vista, but not MOVE. If I COPY then how do I get to system32 to PASTE???

You can't copy and paste a dll file. You have to move it using explorer.
Move the dll file to the edge of your desktop where you can see it.
Open Computer (double-click it).
Open the C drive.
Find and open the Windows folder.
Find and open the System32 folder.
Drag and drop your dll into it.
Close the folders.
