Actually, I'm not a 'Ubuntu fanatic'. I happen to use whatever works. I
run Gentoo on my mini-itx and Debian on my wife's eeepc.
As far as fixing her problem, I'm with alian - Linux would fix it.

Other than switching to Linux, no, I don't. BTW - I'm not a 'Ubuntu
fanatic'. I happen to use whatever is best for my purposes. I use Gentoo
on my mini-itx and Debian on my wife's eeepc; but Ubuntu on the library
computers because it's simple and takes very little effort to keep them
going.

Re: to long to burn cd
Hello joyce
don’t use the built in vista burner...
the best tool is nero but its not free and has gotten VERY bloated lately..
a free lightweight burner program is www.cdburnerxp.se that is vista
compatible
there are 2 ways to wipe a cd-RW, a normal erase that takes all that time,
or a quick erase..
When burning on RW media I always do a quick erase that takes second
Or I just use disks that are one use (CD-R) and not re-writable disks
for more tips and tricks visit my blog here http://computerboom.blogspot.com

Re: to long to burn cd
oh have in mind something else too
RW media are usually far slower than normal cd-r disks... plus burners ofter
burn cd-rw slower than they can burn a cd-r
example speeds for a burner I have: CD-RW speed is 4X
but CD-R speed is 16X !!! 4 times as fast

Da Lamb Chop see Da Lamb Chop do.
I just cannot believe what a jerk he (not has become for he always was) he

True but you can use one for that purpose. I much prefer using a
computer for music as I have my collection in MP3s and can listen to
playlists, etc.

Definitely and the set up is far easier than with Windows.

Of course not. You missed the point (again).

No, there's a dictionary program that comes with Ubuntu.

I guess you don't know what touch typing is but that's to be expected
from someone like you.

GIMP has had two new versions since you last posted this lie and I
showed it to someone that uses Photoshop to make a living. He's now
using GIMP.

Buy a printer with a fax then and pay for ink up your ass. If you have a
printer without a fax or if you don't like paying for ink and paper,
both Windows and Ubuntu can receive faxes except for the crippled
versions of Vista.

Creating a .PDF file is not important? I wonder why so many businesses

I know no one wants to IM with you but that's your problem. There are
millions of people who do IM for both business and pleasure.

I just had a client who came to me with a borked install of XP. It
couldn't boot as a power outage screwed up Windows' MBR. I asked him if
he wanted XP again or Ubuntu. He chose Ubuntu. Three of his friends are
bringing their computers over here to nuke XP and replace it with
Ubuntu. You keep drinking the kool aid that everyone will stick with
Windows but watch out for the hangover that's coming.

With Ubuntu, she will have no problems. You haven't offered her one
solution. All you've done is have a hissy fit and start lying about
Ubuntu again.
