Start menu anomaly
I've noticed something strange in the start menu in RTM.
When I launch programs that are pinned to the start menu, I then get them
showing up in the Recently used programs section of the start menu
underneath. Correct me if I'm wrong, but in XP recently launched programs
only show up if they are NOT already pinned.
Right now what I end up with are two program icons for the same program; one
in Pinned and one underneath in Recently launched. If I right-click the one
underneath to Remove from List it then removes the Pinned one too.
It's very annoying. Is this how it's supposed to be?

Re: Start menu anomaly
It is the way the program is written. I have six entries that I pinned to
the start menu. Only one (PerfectDisk) shows a second time with the behavior
you describe.

Re: Start menu anomaly
I think that it is Windows (XP or Vista) that handles placing program icons
in the list of recently used programs. The programs themselves are not aware
of that list. I have pre-XP software running under both XP and Vista and it
shows up in that list once the "requirements" are met.

I do not think that is normal.
Firefox and outlook are both pinned to my start menu. If I open them by
other ways they do not go into the recently used menu.

Re: Start menu anomaly
Interesting. I've noticed that it does not happen all the time, it's quite
intermittent. I have 7 programs pinned and I've never seen this happen to IE7
(default browser) or Outlook (default Email client).
