Windows Download Manager changed .exe to non-application document.

I have been running the final November MDSN Release of Windows Vista
Ultimate. After buying Quickbooks 2007 Pro for Windows, and having to use the
Windows Connection and Download Manager, my .exe extension was changed to (.
EXE document).

Now all executable programs will not run on Vista.

How do I reset .exe back to Application?

Hi,

Have you looked at this registry key yet?
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\exefile

Could you export a copy and open it in notepad, then paste it into a
response?

Same problem here. Tried to do what you said, but regedit.exe has the same
problem. Wants to open in Adobe now as do many .exe files.
