Problem with .png in IE7

Im having big problems with .png files and IE7. Untill recently
everything has been fine, but i noticed this week that .png files do
not show at all in IE. In firefox that i mainly use its no problem.
This problem with the .png files also affects the offline help section
and the windows vista sidebar. Instead of the pictures im just seeing
the Red X, that means error with the picture.
I have read on this forum about a .reg file that fixed a simmilar
problem for some people, but that didnt work for me. I have tried
uninstalling firefox, without result and now im just lost as to where
to look next. The resonable thing to do would be to uninstall IE and
install it again, but as im in Vista that wont go.
Now i need your help.
