Lifecam VX-6000 with Vista Issues

I have a Microsoft LifeCam VX-6000 webcam. I looked as if the install
worked originally and we had an image. However, it started telling me
upon rebooting that it found new hardware and tried to install it. Then
it could not find the camera. I finally found the updated install
software for Vista online. Installed that and now it is installed but
there is no image. It seems the video is not working. Does anyone have a
fix for this?

I have used Microsoft LifeCam VX-6000 webcam. from the very
first days of Vista existence. It worked but not satisfactorily. Now
I use Logitech QuickCam sphere...

This one works for me fine.

The only one thing I can suggest as a fix for LifeCam VX-6000 webcam,
to uninstall this camera from Vista and reinstall it really fresh &
clean.
I had to clean up all references to this webcam from "Regedit "- rebooting
PC and installing it again. That worked although the sound was not
as it should've been.

I have the same camera and have no problems with picture or sound. There was
an updated version of the software online at the Microsoft site. The
software version I have is 1.4
