I am seeing this exact same issue on a Vista Ultimate machine. .tmp
files are everywhere and we are getting generic "Access Denied"
messages in the sync center. Where you able to find the cause of this?

Finally figured out what was causing my problem. The server share only
had change permissions and not full control. It was very strange that
the error only showed up on certain files. After making the share
permissions full control the error cleared right up. I also figured
out that if I renamed a with the error and then resynced before the
share permisisons were fixed that would make that one error go away.
